INEIGHT CASE STUDY:
AECOM

A SINGLE SOURCE OF TRUTH
AECOM is a recognized global industry leader because they understand that successful construction programs depend on a framework of talent, process, and procedures, supported by a strong foundation of governance.
To ensure vital transparency, visibility, goal alignment, supply chain integration, and robust risk management, the company wanted to build an integrated program controls system that would support intelligence-driven decision making beyond cost and schedule—they were seeking actionable, holistic program insights.
Aidhean Camson, Vice President, Global Program Controls within the Global Program Management business line at AECOM, relayed that their objective was to consolidate scope, cost, schedule, and risk into “a single source of truth.”
He notes: “Most large change initiatives lack alignment between top-down strategy and bottom-up execution. We wanted an approach that enabled stakeholders throughout the program to make informed, timely decisions on all projects—not just the sequence, but the funding, procurement, risk profile, outcomes, and so on.”
“The Program Controls Engine leverages InEight Project Controls to deliver a single source of truth that optimizes monitoring and performance evaluation.”

CHOOSING INEIGHT WAS AN EASY DECISION
Instead of building the typical patchwork of custom, manually-integrated, disparate tools, AECOM decided to collaborate with InEight to co-create the Program Controls Engine, a comprehensive, centralized program management and controls solution, powered by InEight Project Controls.
Camson says that partnering with InEight was an easy decision:
“It was a combination of the functionality, the comprehensive integrated nature of the InEight platform, and InEight’s people. I wanted to create a strategic relationship with people who would listen to us as customers. We're going to manage hundreds of billions of dollars of infrastructure with this solution, so it should be a two-way street. And when you put all that together, it was a very clear-cut decision.”
Today, AECOM uses its Program Controls Engine in global, large-scale infrastructure programs in transportation, water, energy, and building construction, collectively managing $20–30 billion in capital delivery.
