INEIGHT CASE STUDY

CHEMEX

ALL-IN-ONE SOLUTION

Chemex wanted a solution that would support its existing best practices in cost engineering and enable the company to tailor procedures to the type and size of projects it worked on. “We chose InEight to help us drive the development of standardized project controls processes across all projects,” says Alisher Kamalov. “InEight enables us to seamlessly control processes from documents and estimating, to cost control, timesheets, and quantity management all under one platform. InEight’s modular nature appealed to Chemex, which wanted a non disruptive, stepwise implementation that would minimize the impact on ongoing projects. The company defined the minimum requirements for project controls in each area and created a strategic plan to determine the optimal deployment order to maximize speed and value.

“The InEight products have helped us move away from manual project-specific processes and reports. The resulting workflows have increased trust in our data and provided actionable analytics.”

PREPARING FOR DEPLOYMENT

Before redesigning its processes and technology, Chemex started with the corporate culture. The company wanted to establish a core team that was excited about the possibility of change and who would invite their coworkers with them on the journey. Kamalov says: “Our adoption started with the project controls group. We engaged the team to think about the tool’s purpose, necessary inputs, and expected outputs. That way, we could demonstrate how the tool would benefit the entire organization.”

A key element in setting up the new project controls environment was looking at every existing process and procedure to determine whether it was necessary and aligned with the greater strategy. “We adopted a lot of processes as a reaction to an issue or to meet the need for a specific project,” says Kamalov. “The InEight products have helped us move away from manual project-specific processes and reports. The resulting workflows have increased trust in our data and provided actionable analytics.”
